THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE – REVIEW
‘The LEGO Batman Movie is the Batman we need’
‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ is the Batman we need. Full of action, Will Arnett leads the way in this family friendly flick.
After the painful slaughter of Batman through the recent ‘Batman vs Superman’ film, it was fun to see a lighter side of the hero, that was so well placed, it put back into perspective just how great he really is.
After the success of the last ‘LEGO’ movie, the fan favourite ‘Batman’ had a lot to live up to. However it managed carefully execute far and beyond in what will potentially surpass the original. Made popular by various videogame adaptations and of course the onslaught of Toys the film has a major following of fans of all ages, something that will help the film succeed far beyond many others of its kind.
Although Will Arnett may seem like an unlikely Batman candidate, he is absolutely brilliant in the film. He captures the character so well, whilst poking fun at Batman and all his problems. Finally we see the light hearted side of the ever so brooding character as he earns to work with others. Potentially something Batfleck could take onboard leading up to the ‘Justice League’ movie released later in the year.
As an adult the film simply entranced me from the very start, cracking jokes and having me in fits laughter. The self sung ‘Bat theme’ is enough to capture the attention of ever the lightest of viewer. The animation is fantastic and really drags you into the ‘LEGO’ world, so much that you will almost be tempted to crack out the ol’ bricks and start building.
‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ is a fantastic film for the entire family, that has just the right amount of hilarity for both adults and the children that you may or may not take along for the ride. Arnett is amazing and it is fun to see Cera teaming back up with him inside another role. The film is well worth seeing and should be enjoyed by audiences everywhere, regardless of age. A must see for the school holiday season.
